Attention all Event Organizers – Some of you may have heard the news that the St. Lawrence 1812 Bicentennial Alliance was successful in getting a large Ontario Trillium Foundation grant to open a Special Event Resource Centre in Eastern Ontario. The goal is to provide event support to not only the upcoming 1812 bicentennial activities planned for 2012 but to all community events both large and small in the years to come.
This centre will house hundreds of pieces of event equipment that all of us need and use at our festivals each year – signs, barricades, cash boxes, pylons, walkie talkies, risers, fencing, gate huts, garbage cans, recycling units, children’s games, etc. – see attached list. Parking, washroom, info and gate coreplast signage will also be available with various types of sign structures to erect at your event site – sandwich boards, prongs, banners etc. We want to help your visitor navigate your event site well.
Another aspect offered will be free event training sessions covering all aspects of staging successful events – volunteers, marketing, themes, sponsorship, logistics, liability, grants, entertainment, the list goes on and on – see below event training flier for free upcoming sessions planned for this winter sponsored by the Great Waterway.
