Classroom Connection -  www.classroom connection.ca -  is offering a teaching program examining the causes and events of the War of 1812 and how it affected Ontario.  The program is sponsored by the Ontario Heritage Trust and the Toronto Star.  The program includes a teacher resource in pdf format and 20 copies of the student workbook, and is free to the first 1,000 teachers that sign up.

The content may be Toronto-centric, but well worth looking at, if you're teaching Grade 7&8.

Dear Mr. King,

While we respect differences in opinions posting the same message across multiple forums is a form of spam. All members on our network have the same right to express their opinions, and our role is to ensure that this can happen in a decent environment. When members spam the network, they are suspended.

You have posted the same message on 7 different forum topics, including this one on Teaching Resources. At what point does your entitlement to express a personal opinion become harassment of others who might not share your perspective?

Our website is "celebrate1812" not "celebratethewarof1812": we are celebrating our heritage, while commemorating the war.

If you take issue with any federal Conservative agenda, please contact the Prime Minister's Office. While events in our region might receive funding from the federal government, the Alliance is a non-profit organisation supported by the Liberal government of Ontario.
