We're often struck by crazy ideas at the Alliance, and all that sets us apart is that we act upon them. Next on the plans is to create an ebook to help Jane Austen fans visit our lovely region this summer.

To that end, we're looking to feature:

  • Local tour operators or guides, particularly those focused on heritage tours of the region
  • Restaurants, specifically those with a heritage or local connection
  • Hotels/B&Bs, again with an historic connection
  • Things to do
  • Interesting scenery

If you have a nook or cranny that is worthy of exposure and is in our region (from Adolphustown to Cornwall), please let us know. We'll need location and contact details, as well as a blurb on what makes your suggestions great. Any other details such as prices and hours of operation will also be helpful.

Please post below or email info@celebrate1812.ca

Please note that all suggestions should be geared at an individual traveller. So, tours must be open either for hire, or offering single tickets.

MAID FOR A MUSKET - St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival, Prescott

A comedy set in Prescott, 1813. The War of 1812 hasn't had much of an impact so far on the soldiers stationed in Prescott. So they decide to swear off wine and women for a whole year while they improve themselves in the art of poetry, the art of philosophy and the art of war.

All is well until some beautiful women come into town...

Loosely based on Shakespeare's Love's Labours Lost, this comedy is going to be fun for all the family!
