Event Description

With an aim of engaging new audiences in history, the Heritage Fair invites Regency re-enactors, English Country Dancers,  Janeites and others to partake in living history. 

Programming includes: 

  • An English Country Dance Weekend
  • A Guinness World Record Attempt
  • Workshops, such as Duelling 101, Dying in Battle, Period Cooking and How to Become an Accomplished Lady
  • A Skirmish
  • Election Re-enactment And More

Re-enactors participating in the skirmish and offering an open camp experience will recieve meals, access to workshops, and powder stipends where applicable. Register early, space at the Heritage Fair fills quickly.

Our folk duet has created an 1812 showcase. Yes folk music did exist in this era (not everyone was sitting around listenning to fife's drums and pipes). Some of our original recordings, about the 1812 era, now reside in the Canadian National Archives. We have performed this showcase live at 3 major 1812 festivals: 1. The Governor Generals visit to the Brock Monument in Queenston Heights,  2. The Capture of Detroit 1812 Fest of Windsor, 3. Roots to Boots 1812 Fest of Amherstburg.
